Map of Malawi

Home to our main programme, it is among the world's poorest and least developed countries.

Around 85% of the estimated population of 19 million live in rural areas, many of which are many days walk from the nearest healthcare facility

The economy is based on agriculture, and more than one-third of GDP and 90% of export revenues come from this.

In the past, the economy has been dependent on substantial economic aid from the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and others.

Travelling out from our medical centre, our children's mobile clinic serves remote, rural areas in over thirteen village regions. Our offices and medical centre are based in the central region at Nkhotakota, which was on on one of the main slave routes and close to the historic spot where Dr Livingstone set up the signing of an agreement between the slave trader Jumbe and the Chewa chiefs to end the evil practice.

If you can support us it will truly make a difference - for we are a small charity relying entirely on donations.
