Support us in our vital work

To take an operating theatre deep into the African bush we needed a truly robust, 4 wheel drive vehicle - and found the perfect answer in an ex-army 10 ton truck.  It is in excellent condition, very low mileage, its previous life was as a snow plough.

The finished article!
The vehicle is now fitted out with the essential surgical equipment, a generator to run the oxygen concentrator, lights and air conditioning.

At last - seven weeks after setting sail from Southampton - the vehicle has arrived at our Nkhotakota base. Now the real adventure can begin.

The bright colours make it child friendly - the world's biggest "Tonka toy" maybe!

The Mobile Surgical Unit:
WMF's Chief Clinical Officer is one of the regions leading surgeons, and the mobile surgical unit was his idea.
We have raised the capital funding of £40,000, we now urgently need to raise the annual running costs of £27,000, can you help?
